We need well managed green and open spaces in our cities. But focus is often on place-making – creating new spaces and regenerating those in need – and not on place-keeping – managing and maintaining existing spaces.
Place-making can make an immediate and positive impact – visually, socially, environmentally and politically. But without effective place-keeping, which does not have the same high political profile and funding, spaces can decline. Learn more...
